Recent shifts in automotive upholstery focus heavily on custom-fit precision rather than universal sizing. I have carefully analyzed the current market and aggregated feedback to help you choose the right set for your 2017 Outback. While I have reviewed many designs, my goal is to clear the fog surrounding these options. Here is my honest, ranked look at the best seat covers to upgrade your cabin.
1. GIANT PANDA Air Cool Mesh Car Seat Cover Custom Fit Subaru Outback Forester Crosstrek Legacy Impreza,Breathable Cooling Seat Protector with Leather Back Pannel(Black)
This cover earns its spot through its exceptional airflow, which is the primary reason to choose it. It acts like a cooling breeze during long summer drives, keeping you from sticking to your seat.
In my view, the mesh material is a functional win for anyone in a hot climate. However, you might find the aesthetic is slightly more industrial than a standard leather upgrade.
Buyers appreciate how effectively the mesh mitigates heat buildup.
The leather back panel adds a layer of durability to the design.
Users mention that the install process is straightforward for most owners.

This option is tailored for the buyer who wants a refined classic look without the maintenance of genuine animal hide. It transforms the interior appearance quickly and provides a clean, uniform finish.
I believe this is the best choice if you prioritize a sophisticated cabin feel. Be aware that light beige requires more frequent cleaning to keep it looking sharp.
The faux leather is noted for its resistance to minor spills.
Owners often comment on the snug fit across the bucket seats.

3. GIANT PANDA Air Cool Mesh Car Seat Cover Custom Fit Subaru Outback Forester Crosstrek Legacy Impreza,Breathable Cooling Seat Protector with Leather Back Pannel(Black+Gray)
An unexpected feature here is the integrated ventilation system that works alongside the dual-tone aesthetic. It provides a unique visual contrast while still focusing on keeping the occupant cool.
I find the gray accents offer a nice break from the typical all-black interior. It feels more modern, though the mesh texture might not appeal to those wanting a smooth seating surface.
The breathable fabric is highly rated for its comfort in humid weather.
Buyers enjoy the contrast between the black and gray color scheme.

4. Pariitadin Baja Saddle Blanket Car Seat Covers Front Set with Seat Belt Pads, Washable Breathable Striped Woven Cloth Seat Covers for Cars, Universal Fit Most Cars, Airbag Compatible, Red
The most common complaint involves the universal fitment, which means you may need to adjust the straps frequently to keep them tight. Despite this, it offers a vibrant, rugged style that stands out from more sterile options.
I think this is the perfect pick for the outdoorsy driver. Just keep in mind that the woven fabric is not as spill-resistant as the synthetic leather alternatives.
The bohemian pattern is frequently highlighted as a major style draw.
Customers appreciate the included seat belt pads as an added value.
The material is lauded for being breathable and soft to the touch.

5. GIANT PANDA 2PCS Front Seat Covers for Subaru Outback Forester Crosstrek Legacy Impreza, Faux Leather Bucket Seat Cover Fit Subaru Seat Protectors-Black
When compared to the beige version in the second position, this black variant offers the same durable construction but with a more forgiving color. It masks dirt and wear far better, making it the practical choice for busy households.
I find this to be the most versatile option in the lineup. While it lacks the visual pop of lighter colors, it is the safest bet for long-term ownership.
The black finish is consistently praised for maintaining a factory-like look.
Users report that the material wipes clean with minimal effort.
The protective layer is thick enough to handle daily entry and exit.

This set gained a reputation for its precision engineering, and in my assessment, that holds up perfectly. It is designed specifically for the 2015-2019 Outback, which eliminates the baggy look often found in cheaper alternatives.
I rank this as my top choice because it fits like a second skin. You should prepare for a more involved installation than universal types, but the final result is worth the effort.
The custom fit is repeatedly cited as the main reason for its high satisfaction.

Choosing Between Them
I recommend the FEINEPRO Custom Beige covers for any owner who values a tailored fit that looks like it came from the factory. If you prefer a more rugged or ventilated feel, the Pariitadin Baja or the GIANT PANDA Mesh are excellent alternatives for their respective uses. I stand by the FEINEPRO set as the best overall investment for your 2017 Outback interior.
Please keep in mind that even the best covers require care to maintain their appearance. You should expect a more involved installation for custom-fitted options compared to universal alternatives. Once set, however, you will find these covers provide a durable, long-lasting upgrade to your vehicle.
